Lead is a malleable and heavy metal with dark gray color due to the presence of surface oxidation; melt at 327,46 °C, with the emission of vapors at about 450 ° C. Its boiling temperature is about 1740 °C. It can be used in its pure form, in alloy with other metals or for the production of inorganic compounds or as tetraethyl lead, antiknock for old fuels.
